Izagani Aquino
Course: MA Digital Scholarship (Visiting Student, Teddy Hall)
Voice Type: Baritone
Hailing from far across the pond, Izagani swapped the Columbia Kingsmen for Out of the Blue, and thank goodness he did. Armed with one of the most soulful belts you’ve ever heard, he’s managed to snag what can only be described as an inexcusable number of solos (don’t worry, he’s more than happy to tell you about them). But behind the voice is OOTB’s unofficial court jester. Whether he’s cracking jokes mid-warm-up (or mid-set if he fancies it), or proudly revealing that he brought us all baked potatos for snacks at rehearsal, no one can deny that he keeps us on our toes. Yet beneath the antics lies one of the most dedicated members of the group, never missing a rehearsal, and constantly showering our music director with profuse (and sometimes suspiciously dramatic) gratitude. With heart, humour, and a gorgeous tone, Izagani has firmly cemented himself as an OOTB standout.
